For this reason, it is important that they stay connected with others in order to stay motivated and help them cope with their illness. There’s many online groups you can turn to in order to find people that have the same chronic illness as you. There’s Facebook groups, discussion groups and online blogs on almost every topic, so you really don’t have to be alone.
We understand, you may find it hard to open up and tell others about your chronic illness. You may feel embarrassed, you may worry that you’re bothering someone over it and those feelings are normal. Thinking about talking to someone about your illness can be harder than actually sitting down and talking to them.
Most of the time, you may look and feel fine. However, at some point, you may have less energy and feel ill. You may need to take breaks from work for self-care and when all of this happens, you need people to know what you’re going through so that they can understand.
